Petes guided tours

Peter was on a Wyong Shire Orientation bus tour today and was able to help the group by giving them access to The Shed.

Peter showed them the facility, the equipment and projects that the team have undertaken in The Shed.

The group was impressed with the facilities and Peter may have inspired a new member or two.

Well done Peter for seizing the opportunity to show off The Shed !!

Thanks to Cassie the name tags have been updated. The new tags just about fill the whole rack now.

Good that the rack now is in a fixed position .. so no excuse for not finding your tags now guys. . . .
Terry has a sharp eye for a choice piece of timber and saw some very fine pieces turned up in the scrap from Wideline Windows.

Well he didn't waste a moment and designed these little drawer boxes and proceed to make these three.

Terry was even sharing his secret for getting such a womderful finish to the boxes. Sharing skills, knowledge and information is an integral part of the shed culture.

Well done Terry a beautiful timber treasure crafted with care !!

learning skills

Tubby spent some time after the toolbox meeting this morning discussing the operation of the thicknesser.

Tubby instructing.

Men's Sheds have members with a variety of skills from those who have worked extensively in workshops in the industry, those that have some experience and complete novices. Sharing information is one of the great strengths of the peer education that occurs in Mens Sheds.

Learning while doing is a strong ethos at The Entrance Men's Shed.

nursery extension

Andrew was hard at work today finishing off the fence extenstions for the Bateau Bay Community Nursery.

The extensions will fit over the existing fence posts raising the height of the fence. Wire will be strung through the extensions and this will vines to grow higher.

A worthwhile community endeavour.. !!
